Advice for the Holidays: Don't Worry; Purr More, Hiss Less

Does this look like the face of a creature who worries?
Does she come off as a flustered feline, running around like a headless chipmunk in a frenzied attempt to get her cards written and all her mice, captured, wrapped, and placed under the tree?

Nah.... My laid-back puddy, Angela, knows better than to worry....She lives in the moment and lets what will happen happen. She knows Christmas is fast approaching, but also knows everything that needs to get done, will. There's no cause for anxiety.

Things weren't always this calm. In fact, Angela used to be a nervous nelly. So how did she get so mellow?

Glad you asked.... Angela read a book her Mama wrote, and it has helped her immensely:THE WORRYWART'S PRAYER BOOK taught this former worrier and catnip addict to, "let there be no crisis before its time," and to realize "God's in charge."

Yup, after sitting on the book for weeks, she decided to open it,and chew on some of the pages. The difference in her behavior was palpable. She stopped running around in circles, wasting time wringing her paws over what MIGHT happen. She stopped thinking negatively about terrible things (like what if Tom, her boyfriend, fell for the new kitty down the block? Or what if her Mommy forgets she promised Angela salmon on her birthday?). And she didn't let what others thought of her put her in a tailspin. She found peace at last.

So much so, that she decided to pad through another of her Mom's books,PURR MORE, HISS LESS. "It's such a fun book," says Angela.... "and a good mantra for the New Year. I particularly love the advice, 'You can never rub up against a person's leg too often,' and 'when you're angry, hiss, spit, then get over it.'"

"I give these books five stars," says Angela, who says if you're looking for a non-vampire type of gift, these are cat-a-gorically purr-fect." Have a blessed Christmas.

  1. Dear Allia,
    Your adorable blog about Angela
is really charming. Thank you for putting a smile on my face.
    Your Pal,
    Ruby *o*

  2. I'll have to get two copies of "Purr More, Hiss Less" so Kelly can "ingest" one and I can "read" one. Now where can I find a kitty as beautiful as Angela? Not that my Black Brigade isn't the most breathtaking band of black cats and my Golden Girls aren't the most gorgeous group of calicos!

  3. Thanks, ladies.....I'm prejudiced, of course. But I know all your puddies are heavenly!

I forgot to add, if anyone wants a signed bookplate, shoot me an email and I'll send you one.
